Frequently asked questions

No. All Hakura spice mills are designed for dry grinding only. For wet masala (onion-tomato paste, fresh coconut chutney, idli-dosa batter), you need a separate wet grinder. Feeding moist or oily materials into a dry mill can damage the grinding mechanism.
For a family of 4–5 grinding spices once a week, the SP400 at ₹9,440 incl. GST is sufficient. If you grind daily, make atta at home regularly, or grind larger quantities (500g+ per session), the SP1000 at ₹16,520 incl. GST is more suitable — the higher wattage means less motor strain on larger batches.
Yes. All models handle whole dry coffee beans — grind fine for espresso or coarser for filter coffee. The all-stainless steel grinding chamber leaves no plastic aftertaste. Clean the chamber with a dry run of a few tablespoons of rice after grinding coffee before switching to spices.
The SP4500 is a table-top machine for commercial kitchens — high capacity batch grinding. The Pulveriser is a floor-standing industrial machine rated at 60 kg/hr continuous throughput — built for masala manufacturers, food processing units, and bulk spice grinding operations. If you're grinding more than 30–40 kg per day, the Pulveriser is the right choice.
Run a small amount (2–3 tablespoons) of rice or plain wheat through the machine — it absorbs residual spice and pushes it out. Wipe the chamber and lid with a dry cloth. Do not wash with water. The stainless steel chamber is easy to wipe clean and does not absorb odours.
At 28,000 RPM, a 100g batch of whole dry red chilli takes about 45–60 seconds to reach a fine powder. Harder spices like pepper or cumin take slightly longer — 60–90 seconds. The high-speed motor means you spend less time grinding and more time cooking.
Yes — and often finer. The 28,000 RPM stainless steel blade produces a smooth, uniform powder comparable to commercial grinding. For chilli, coriander, and cumin, the result is the same fine texture you expect from packet masala — without preservatives or blending fillers.
The motor is designed for reduced noise and vibration — significantly quieter than traditional stone grinders or mixer-grinder jars running at high speed. A typical grinding cycle lasts under 2 minutes, so even at kitchen ambient noise levels it's perfectly usable while cooking.
Yes — the machine handles whole wheat, rice, and other grains. For daily atta requirements of a family of 4, the 500g home model is suitable for small batches. If you want to grind 1–2 kg of atta per session regularly, consider the larger SP1000 model for less motor strain and faster throughput.
